Concussion Treatment

What Is a Concussion?

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury. It’s caused by a bump or blow to the head or body that causes the brain to move back and forth in an unnatural way.

While you might hear about concussions on the news frequently and in a relatively benign way, concussions are actually quite serious. Even though they aren’t often life-threatening, they are still brain injuries.

Concussions can create problems with memory, balance, concentration, and coordination, and symptoms like:

  • Headache
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Blurry vision
  • Fatigue
  • Confusion

Sway for Concussion Treatment

At Sea One Family Chiropractic, we’ve invested in Sway technology. This assessment is easily performed using your own mobile device, whether tablet or smartphone.

The technology performs a battery of cognitive testing, checking reaction times, impulse control, and memory. We use it to establish a baseline very quickly and monitor your concussion recovery.
